Last week, we held our first-ever Climate Resilience Festival. Brought together by our own experts and partners, insight was shared on practical strategies for building climate-resilient communities. From showcasing how climate resilience comes to life here at Intact Insurance, to exploring the critical role we play in managing flood risk in our communities.
On Monday, we kicked off the festival with an in-person event in London. This brought together 75 of our colleagues and experts working in climate-relevant roles. We heard from Mandy Dennison, VP, Social Impact and ESG at Intact Financial Corporation - Mandy opened the day with an inspiring look at Intact's 15 year journey in climate resilience.
Our keynote speaker, Dr Blair Feltmate, Head of the Intact Centre on Climate Resilience, broke down the science behind climate change. He shared practical solutions for adaptation and shared how our customers can take action to be more resilient to extreme weather events.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Mandy and Blair took us deeper into how Intact is helping to build resilient communities. On Thursday, we wrapped up with an inspiring session featuring our UK climate resilience partners - the University of Hull, The Wildlife Trusts, and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust - sharing how collaboration drives real impact.

The purpose of the Resilience Festival has been to bring together as many people as possible within our business to talk about climate resilience, and to really make sure people understand what we mean when we talk about it, and also the relevance to us as an insurer. Over the next few decades we'll continue to see change in weather patterns, and it's really important to be prepared. We must step up and help our customers, brokers and society prepare and adapt for what's to come.
With our research partners at the University of Hull, we're working on customised solutions for our Commercial Lines and Specialty Lines customers. With The Wildlife Trusts we're developing nature based solutions to restore critical wetlands that have been lost. Helping our customers build resilience helps build a thriving economy, helping the country to adapt.
