We apply the same underwriting considerations as we would for primary cover.

Risk appetite
Preferred risks
We prefer to cover:
- Risks with fees earned between £1.5 million and £75 million
- Design and construction risks up to £250 million – where attachment point is above £25 million
- Risks with a maximum capacity of £10 million
We can attach over £5 million other than for design and construction.
Primary insurance security
A customer's main insurers must meet or exceed at least one of these credit agency ratings:
- A- (AM Best, S&P Global Ratings, Fitch)
- A3 (Moody’s)
