Broker portal FAQs

Any of your current links to RSA Online or NIG The Hub will redirect to the new portal. We will also email you a link on launch day.

If you already have a login for NIG The Hub, you can use this for the Intact Insurance Broker Portal, too.

If you currently trade with us on RSA Online only, we'll send you new login details ahead of the new portal's launch.

Use both NIG The Hub and RSA Online? We'll combine your account details, so you only have to use your NIG The Hub login at launch. If we can't combine your logins, we'll contact you beforehand to tell you which login to use.

We have improved the portal to support a smoother journey and faster decisions.

Improvements include:

We have emailed all users of NIG The Hub and RSA Online with information on how to access the new portal.

As always, if you need help, please contact broker support.

Before you register for a new account, check your agency has a broker administrator. They'll need to authorise all new account requests. Find out how to identify your broker administrator if you’re not sure.

To register a new user account:

1. Visit the Intact Insurance Broker Portal login page
2. Select ‘Need to register’ from the navigation bar
3. Enter your agency number and select ‘Search’. Check with your broker administrator if you don’t know your agency number
4. Select the correct agency number from the results
5. Complete the form, then select ‘Next’

You’ll get a notification to let you know your account is being processed.

User ID and password

Your broker administrator will let you know your user ID once they’ve approved your account.

If they haven't generated a password for you, use the forgotten password button on the login page.

To reset your password:

1. Go to the Intact Insurance Broker Portal login page
2. Select ‘Forgotten password’ and follow the instructions
3. Check your inbox for the password reset email
4. Follow the reset link to set a new password

Contact your broker administrator if you need help or your account is locked.

If you’re a broker administrator, contact [email protected].

If you’ve forgotten your user ID, please contact your agency’s broker administrator.

To update your user details, please contact your agency’s broker administrator.

Your broker administrator should have been appointed by your agency’s principal broker.

If you’re having trouble identifying your administrator, contact [email protected].

For your security and ours, we discourage users from sharing accounts.

We advise against the use of shared email addresses for broker portal accounts. This is to help keep login details secure and protect customer data.

If you’re having technical issues, please call 0345 9990 221, with details of the:

• Date and time of the error
• Affected user ID
• Error message or reference shown
• Affected area of the broker portal  
• Internet browser you were using

‘Access denied’ and ‘cannot display webpage’ errors

An ‘access denied’ or ‘cannot display webpage’ error may be caused by:

• Cookie settings
• An unrecognised browser
• Internet restrictions
• Firewall settings

Please contact your IT support team for advice in the first instance.  

If you need to update your firewall or internet restrictions exceptions list, add:

• *.intactinsurance.com 

A broker administrator is a staff member who oversees their agency's access to the Intact Insurance Broker Portal. This person is appointed to the role by the firm's principal broker.

A broker administrator's responsibilities include:

• Keeping the brokerage’s user records accurate and up to date
• Setting up and authorising new user accounts
• Unlocking accounts and resetting passwords when needed
• Managing user permissions for online features, such as commercial quotes and cover notes

Broker administrators are responsible for managing your agency’s broker portal users. This helps to keep the portal secure, compliant and working effectively.

Appointing a broker administrator is also part of our portal's terms and conditions.

To appoint a new broker administrator:

1. Complete the Intact Insurance Broker Portal broker administrator form (PDF, 360 KB)
2. Sign the form and email it to [email protected]
3. Wait for us to confirm activation of the new administrator account

You can follow the same steps if you want to change a broker administrator.

We recommend having more than one administrator to help cover any absences.

To reset your password, use the forgotten password button on the portal login screen. Follow the instructions and we’ll send a reset link to your registered email address.

To add a new user:

1. Log in to your Intact Insurance Broker Portal admin account
2. Go to the ‘Admin page’
3. Select the ‘Users’ tab
4. Go to the end of the page and select ‘Add new user’
5. Fill in the new user’s details and select which features they can use
6. Activate the new user
7. Contact the new user to let them know their user ID

You can use the ‘Generate new password’ option to send a password link to the user’s registered email. Or, they can select the forgotten password option on the portal login screen.

All broker portal accounts must use a business email address. Personal email addresses are not accepted.

We also advise against the use of shared email addresses. This is to help keep login details secure and protect customer data.

To reset a user’s password:

1. Log in to your Intact Insurance Broker Portal admin account
2. Go to the ‘Admin’ page
3. Select the ‘Users’ tab
4. Locate the relevant user and select ‘Amend’
5. Check the user’s email address is correct and update it if necessary
6. Go to the end of the page and select ‘Generate new password’

The user will receive an email with a new password link.

To amend a user’s access to broker portal features like cover notes:

1. Log in to your Intact Insurance Broker Portal admin account
2. Go to the ‘Admin’ page
3. Select the ‘Users’ tab
4. Locate the relevant user and select ‘Amend’
5. Select which features they can use
6. Select ‘Save changes’

The changes will apply when the user next logs in.

To update a user’s name, phone number or email address:

1. Log in to your Intact Insurance Broker Portal admin account
2. Go to the ‘Admin’ page
3. Select the ‘Users’ tab
4. Locate the relevant user and select ‘Amend’
5. Change the relevant information in the required field
6. Select ‘Save changes’

The changes will apply when the user next logs in.

If an account is no longer needed, you must deactivate it. This will not remove all record of the account, but it will prevent further use.

To deactivate an account:

1. Log in to your Intact Insurance Broker Portal admin account
2. Go to the ‘Admin’ page
3. Select the ‘Users’ tab
4. Locate the relevant user and select ‘Amend’
5. Deselect the ‘Account active’ option
6. Select ‘Save changes’
