Standard cover
We offer essential farm protection, including:
- Property damage cover for buildings, fixed machinery, stock and tools
- Business interruption cover for loss of gross profit, revenue or book debts
- Loss of livestock owned by the farm or held in its custody – specified perils only
- Employers’ liability up to £10 million
- Public, product and environmental liability cover

Optional cover
You can also extend your cover to include:
- Enhanced property cover against damage from theft, storm, flood, or subsidence
- Extended livestock protection from theft, disease, electrocution or worrying
- Tailored business interruption cover against contaminated or uncollected milk
Our target customers
Agriculture combined is for small, medium and large-size farming and agriculture businesses in the UK.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Dairy or beef farms
- Arable farmers
- Sheep farms
Poultry and egg production – including selected intensive operations
- Outdoor pig farms – including selected indoor intensive units
- Smallholdings
- Agricultural contractors – including crop spraying and cover for damage to crops being worked on
We also cover agricultural diversification risks, including:
- Residential, holiday and commercial property owners
- Caravan and camping sites
- Renewable energy installations – including solar and biomass
- Livestock on keep – including bailment cover
- Farm cafés, farm shops and farmers markets
- Grain store operators
Risk appetite
Preferred risks
We prefer to cover businesses with:
- Well-maintained farm buildings, in a good condition
- Buildings made from non-combustible materials – like steel, concrete, brick or stone
- Buildings under a single owner or tenancy – to ensure clear control of upkeep and risk
- Well-maintained, modern equipment, serviced on a regular basis
- Good housekeeping, clear safety rules and suitable fire protection
- A stable trading record
- A clear claims history over the last 3 to 5 years
- Few claims or claims that have been well-managed
Flood risks
You can check a client’s address for flood risks on the new broker portal.
We’ll let you know if they’re at a high risk of flooding and whether a quote is likely to be declined or referred.

Non-preferred risks
We prefer not to cover:
- Businesses based outside the UK
- Food manufacturing and processing operations, including abattoirs and slaughterhouses
- Businesses that operate out of unsuitable or dilapidated premises
