Cover details
Standard cover
We offer cover for:
- Up to £2.5 million in contents per premises
- Deeds and documents – £100,000
- Artwork and transparencies – £10,000
- Computer system records – £100,000
- Refrigerated and non-refrigerated drugs and medicines – £2,000 and £500 for surgery trades
- Unspecified all risks – £2,500
- Money during business hours, in transit or a safe out of business hours – £5,000 as standard
- Transit – £2,500 per vehicle as standard
- Employers’ liability – £10 million
- Public and products liability – £2 million as standard
- Machinery breakdown
There are no limits on wage roll or turnover.

Optional cover
You can extend your cover to include:
- Buildings and tenants' improvements – up to £5 million per premises
- Computer equipment worldwide, including breakdown up to £250,000
- Stock-in-trade – £25,000
- Specified all risks – £20,000 per item, up to £100,000 in total
- Business interruption – up to £5 million in gross revenue or £1 million increased cost of working
- Terrorism
- Fidelity – £50,000
- Personal accident – £35,000
- Legal expenses – £250,000
You can also choose higher limits for some of your standard cover options.

The cover isn’t aimed at consumers or firms with more than 10 premises. And it’s not suitable for those who only need the optional add-ons.
Risk appetite
Preferred risks
We prefer to insure:
- Fully-occupied premises used only by the business or other offices
- Standard construction buildings
- Up to £5 million of buildings cover for premises
- Up to £2.5 million for contents including computer equipment
- Firms with less than 3 claims in the past 5 years
- Companies without previous flood or subsidence claims
Non-preferred risks
We prefer not to cover:
- Portfolios with more than 10 premises
- Individual property damage exposure greater than £5 million
- Individual business interruption exposure greater than £5 million
- Firms with mostly unoccupied premises
- Premises without self-contained access
- Staff carrying out manual work away from the premises
